German Youth Steering Committee
The German Youth Steering Committee was founded in order to connect pupils, teachers and students in order to bring up to date polar science into the classrooms. Young scientists are encouraged to present their research in schools and help teachers in identifying current research topics for their curricula.
Antarctic Science Summer School at King George Island
In January 2008 a group of students will be working on King-George-Island in Antarctica. Research topics include terrestrial biology, geology and marine ecology.
International Sea-Ice Summer School, Svalbard 2-13 July 2007
Sea ice plays a very active role in the Earth's climate system and reacts rather rapidly to climate changes. To reflect the recent progress in the understanding of sea ice and its interaction with the ocean und the atmosphere, there will be held a Summer School at the University Centre in Svalbard (UNIS) on Spitsbergen.
